Every fire
safety asset,
accounted for.

FireGuard Studio is the inspection, compliance and lifecycle platform for fire protection systems in upstream oil and gas, refining and gas processing.

1Register

Know what you have, and where.

Build the register once: site, unit, zone, asset. Scan a barcode or QR tag and the catalogue fills in the specification, so every extinguisher, detector, hydrant and deluge valve carries its own identity and history.

2Inspect

Walk the route. The record writes itself.

Technicians follow standard checklists on a handheld that works without signal. Each check is stamped with who, when and where, then syncs once the device is back in range.

3Resolve

A failed check becomes a work order.

Deficiencies are raised at the point of inspection, ranked by risk and tracked to closure. Nothing sits in a notebook waiting for the next audit.

4Prove

Show readiness on demand.

Managers, auditors and regulators see the same live picture: what is in service, what is due, who inspected it and with which credential. Audit exports take minutes, not days.

Four systems, one register.

From a 2 kg extinguisher to the firewater ring main, every asset sits in the same hierarchy and is inspected against the standard that governs it.

Firewater supply

NFPA 20, 24, 25

Life safety and passive protection

NFPA 80, 101, ASTM E119, UL 263

Tagging follows a two-tier scheme, functional location plus equipment ID, aligned to ISO 14224 and ISO 55001. Hazardous-area assets carry their ATEX or IECEx zone, and sour-service equipment is flagged so the right procedure and the right technician are assigned.

Every asset, from first tag to final replacement.

An extinguisher on a bracket, a monitor on the ring main and a detector wired to a controller age in different ways, but each needs an identity, a schedule, a record and a plan for replacement. FireGuard Studio manages that life for every category.

Asset register

Every extinguisher, monitor, hydrant, hose reel and detector gets a place in the site, unit, zone and asset hierarchy, a scannable tag, and a specification filled in from the catalogue.

Coverage and placement

See what protects each area and where the gaps are. For detection systems, coverage modelling works with fire and gas mapping tools.

Design records

Where equipment is tied to a controller, cause and effect matrices are kept under version control and the logic is verified by simulation.

In practice

Fire extinguisher

Tagged and located, with type, capacity and fire rating filled from the catalogue.

Firewater monitor

Registered against its position on the firewater network, with its hydrant and supply.

Gas detector

Linked to its zone and to its entry in the cause and effect matrix.

Audit-ready at every phase

  • Regulatory documentationCompliance packages for NFPA, IEC 61511, OSHA PSM, API RP 14C and the requirements of your local authority.
  • Audit readinessInspection records, test certificates and performance indicators, current on any day an auditor asks.
  • Management of changeWorks with your plant MOC procedure, with impact assessment for every modification.

For instrumented systems

Where fire and gas detection forms part of a safety instrumented system, FireGuard Studio works alongside the PlantSecure ProcessSafety module.

  • Fire and gas systems modelled as SIF initiators
  • Coordinated proof testing schedules
  • Combined safety integrity calculations
  • Unified compliance documentation

The whole fire protection programme on one screen.

Executives, safety officers and field supervisors work from the same record. Conformance, overdue load and critical deficiencies roll up from a single asset to the whole enterprise.

Try an inspection.

Scan a tag, run the monthly extinguisher check as a technician would in the Field Edition, and watch what reaches the control room.

  • Works without signalRecords are saved on the device and sync when it is back in range.
  • Scan to identifyBarcode and QR scanning for asset tags, serial numbers and model numbers. Both tags here are real and will read on your own phone.
  • Catalogue auto-fillA model match fills in type, capacity, rating and manufacturer.
  • Photo and video evidenceAttach pictures or clips to any check, finding or test step.
  • Signed on completionA digital signature closes each inspection or proof test.
  • Made for daylightA light theme for outdoor work and a dark theme for the control room.

Two asset tags are fixed to the wall. Tap one to scan it.

Deficiency register

What the control room sees, as it happens.

No deficiencies yet. Scan a tag, then fail a check on the handheld to raise one.

Designed for the full range of facilities, from office blocks to process plants.

Most inspection software stops at commercial buildings. FireGuard Studio covers those too, and carries on into hazardous areas, remote sites and the regulators that oversee them.

Audits ask who inspected it.

An auditor does not only ask whether the extinguisher was checked. They ask whether the person who checked it was qualified, trained and current. FireGuard Studio tracks competence end to end.

Certification registry

NFPA, NICET, ASNT, manufacturer and authority permits held per technician, with expiry dates, scanned certificates and renewal history.

Live competence matrix

A role by skill grid showing who can inspect what, with coverage gaps surfaced by site and discipline before they become findings.

Skill-based routing

Inspections are only assigned to technicians whose credential is active and matches the asset class.

Renewal reminders

Alerts at 90, 60 and 30 days reach the technician, the supervisor and HR, with enrolment in the refresher course.

Training records

Completions, hours and scores synchronised from your learning system, or managed in the built-in training catalogue.

Credential bundle

One export for any authority, insurer or client: who inspected what, with which credential, on which date.

Illustrative economics.

What a fire safety programme run on paper and spreadsheets can cost in a year. Move the slider to your asset count.

25,000
1,00050,000

Where a manual programme leaks

  • Paper logs are lost, damaged or never filed
  • Records differ from one site to the next
  • Audit reports take days to compile
  • Maintenance happens after the failure, not before
  • Inspectors find the gaps, and fines follow
  • Readiness cannot be shown when it is asked for

Annual exposure

$2.01M

Hours lost to paperwork

7,610

Full-time technicians tied up during the year

13.8
Operational disruption$795K

Production hours lost to fire equipment failures, slow incident response, safety clearance delays and false-alarm shutdowns.

Emergency procurement and early replacement$515K

Urgent orders bought at a premium and flown in, and equipment replaced early because its service history cannot be found.

Regulatory fines and insurance loadings$387K

Expected cost of fines, shutdown orders and higher premiums when inspection records are missing or out of date.

Wasted technician hours$317K

Skilled time spent on data entry, compiling reports, rework from errors and audit preparation instead of plant work.

Illustrative only. Modelled on an industry-basis reference case, a 25,000-asset upstream facility, and scaled linearly by asset count. Regulatory exposure varies by jurisdiction. This is not a forecast for your site; a 30-minute workshop replaces every input with your own.
